The WestWind Foundation is pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees recently awarded nearly $600,000 in grants in 2008 to organizations working to advance reproductive health and rights both domestically and internationally. Roughly 75 percent of RHRP funds were distributed to NGOs working internationally, while 26 percent of the program budget was used to support NGOs working in the United States to protect and advance reproductive health and rights. WestWind Foundation Launches Southeast Climate Initiative

In late 2006, WestWind formally launched its new climate initiative. The initiative supports non-profit organizations that are working throughout the Southeast United States to build public support for immediate action on climate change. The foundation will consider a range of strategies, but has prioritized organizations working to: promote state and/or regional collaborative action through creative partnerships with business; launch grassroots campaigns and educational efforts, particularly to stop the construction of new coal-fired power plants; or enable state and/or local government action by working with local leaders. To learn more about the initiative, please view a list of our climate grantees. If you are not certain if your organization is a fit and you would like to discuss WestWind's criteria, please contact info@westwindfoundation.org.
